2012 MasterClass Workshops Announced for the young and young at heart!
YOUNG BLUES PLAYERS
Clay
Swafford was raised in the small rural community of
Providence, AL into a musical family, surrounded by the sounds of
Baptist Hymnals, Country and Bluegrass. Clay took interest in the
piano at an early age and after hearing the music of B.B King and
Bobby Blue Bland at age 15 he was soon hooked on the blues and took
a huge interest in Post War Chicago Blues which became a life
changing passion. At age 16 Clay started attending the Pinetop
Homecoming Celebration and soon found himself on stage. He also
began seeking out all the Chicago Blues legends he could find and by
age 18 had befriended and worked with names such as Bob Margolin,
Pinetop Perkins, Hubert Sumlin, Willie “Big Eyes” Smith, Carey Bell,
and many others. In 2005 Clay was part of the boogie woogie piano
documentary “Falsifyin” alongside Jerry Lee Lewis, Pinetop Perkins,
Marcia Ball, and Henry Gray. Clay also played on the award winning
CD, Bob Corritore’s Harmonica Blues. In 2011 he was selected to be
an assistant instructor at the 2011 Pinetop Perkins Foundation Blues
Piano Master Class in Clarksdale, MS.
Jerry Lee Lewis - “As long as guys like Clay are out carrying

The
Peterson Brothers have been tucked away deep in the
Lost Pines of Texas. The band is the inspiration of 14 year old
lead guitarist and band leader, Glenn and his 12 year old brother
Alex on bass/violin and 13 year old Connor Marshall on drums!
They first came to Pinetop’s attention in 2008 when they were 9 and
11 years old. Since that time they have played with Pinetop on many
occasions at Antones in Austin and performed at blues
festivals throughout Texas. In 2011 you can look for them at the King
Biscuit Festival in Helena, Arkansas and at the Pinetop Homecoming
Celebration.
